Bury St Edmunds cricket club has recently built a new pavilion, club-house and sports hall as part of a major investment at Victory Ground. All the wet areas – including the four changing rooms, showers and toilets – are heated with Gaia’s low temperature hot water underfloor system.
Unheated tiled floors, especially in wet areas, can be cold even when the ambient temperature is comfortable. Furthermore, wall-mounted radiant heaters often leave cold spots in rooms. The combination of uneven heating and constant moisture is a perfect breeding ground for moulds and other micro-organisms.
Four Gaia underfloor circuits were installed, each with its own manifold to circulate the hot water to the different zones. Control is provided by Gaia’s wireless infrared controllers and wall-mounted thermostats.
